Meet the artist - Filipa Cabecinha

Filipa Cabecinha is above all a risk taker.
She began her academic life studying engineering but a tingling feeling made her understand that it wasn’t feeding her soul. She wasn’t afraid to start over and change her life completely. Her next step was to study business and economics, something she really loves.
During all these years she never stopped painting, which is her real passion, talent and destiny in this world. Her intrepid being is deeply visible in all her paintings and they can be as powerful as her own life testimony.
Her objective in this beautiful form of art is to break barriers and combine incombinable elements. Her paintings are at the same time abstract and realistic, intense and calming, beautiful and discomforting. She uses contrasting colors to give life to the deepest desires and create indescribable feelings.

Filipa’s admiration for risk-takers plays a central role in her creative process.
No matter how unconventional the path, how different it is from what has been done before, or how late it may seem to start, there is always room to push forward.

Through her use of color, form, and a bold combination of styles, Filipa's art is an invitation to embrace uncertainty and contradiction, to challenge the norm, and to question the rules.
